Whether you’re booking a private chef for a special occasion, arranging luxury dining at home, or planning a bespoke meal on holiday, here you’ll find answers to common questions about Noble Prawn’s private dining and kitchen supper experiences, including menus, pricing, travel, and dietary requirements.
Do you provide wine or drinks with the meal?
We partner with Parade Wines and an expert wine specialist. If you’d like to add a wine pairing, we’ll put you in touch with Parade Wines to select the perfect bottles for your menu.
How much does a private chef cost?
Our three-course Signature private dining experience is £120 per person which includes the chef on site for four hours. Beyond these hours additional staffing charges apply. Service staff are £16 per hour and Chefs £25 per hour. Prices vary for bespoke menus or international travel.
What’s included in The Noble Prawn private chef service?
We take care of everything — menu planning, sourcing fresh ingredients, cooking, serving, and cleaning up — so you can relax and enjoy your event.
How far in advance should I book a private chef?
We recommend booking Signature Dining experiences at least 6–8 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. School holiday periods often fill up 3–4 months ahead, so early booking is advised. That said, it’s always worth getting in touch, as occasional cancellations do arise.
Do you bring your own equipment and ingredients?
Yes. We bring all ingredients, tools, and equipment needed for your meal — we only require access to a functioning kitchen and basic facilities.
What areas do you cover as a private chef?
We’re based in Suffolk and provide private chef services across East Anglia, the UK, and Europe for events, holidays, and special occasions.
Can I hire Noble Prawn for a holiday or rental property?
Absolutely. We often cook for guests staying in holiday homes, villas, and rural retreats, both in the UK and across Europe.
What happens after I submit my booking enquiry?
Once we receive your form, we’ll contact you by email or phone to confirm availability, finalise your menu, and arrange any additional details for your event.
How do I book Noble Prawn private chef experience?
Simply complete our booking enquiry form or contact us directly by email or phone. We’ll confirm your date, send you the link to our menus, then following payment your booking is secured.
Can I change my menu choices after I have paid?
Generally no but we are happy to discuss any issues that you may have prior to the event and will try our best to accommodate you.
Must I choose the inclusive package?
No. Our bespoke service starts from £90 per person for food only, though our Signature Dining Package offers the best overall value.
Do all guests need to choose the same dishes?
Yes, with the exception of vegetarian and/or vegan guests. Otherwise, all guests will enjoy the same menu. If you’d like to offer one additional choice, supplements apply as follows: Starters £10 per person per dish; main course £20 per person per dish; Pudding £10 per person per dish. For any more choices then the bespoke menu pricing will apply as the base with supplements added accordingly. All supplemented menus must be chosen and agreed by the chef in advance of payment on line.
Can you accommodate allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes. All menu dishes clearly display allergen information. If you have an allergy or food intolerance, please speak with a member of our team so we can discuss the menu in more detail. Please note that we use all 14 recognised allergens in our kitchen, and while care is taken, cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed to be avoided.
Can children be catered for?
Yes, of course. We offer a Young Guests Menu, available on request, with pricing starting from £25 per guest for a main course and side. There is no age restriction on who may choose this menu. Please note, we’re unable to offer half portions from the main adult menu.
Do you clear everything away afterwards?
Yes. If you choose to remain at the table, we’ll clear as discreetly as possible with minimal disturbance. If you move to another room, we can fully clear the dining table. We’ll also take care of all washing up, load the dishwasher, remove rubbish and leave your kitchen clean, clear and tidy.

Can I substitute a starter for canapés?
Yes, of course. A starter can be substituted for three canapés, providing three pieces per person, approximately nine pieces per guest in total. Additional canapés are charged at £3.50 per canapé, per person.
When will I know the name of my chef?
Once your date is secured, your menu and full payment has been received, we’ll be in touch to confirm the name of your chef. If you have a preferred chef, just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Noble prawn ltd reserves the right to change your chef at any time prior to your booking date.
Do I need to pay in advance?
Yes. On enquiry, a £100 date-holding deposit is required. You will be invoiced for payment and then you will be provided with a link to choose your menu. Once you select your menu on line you will be invited to checkout and pay in full. Any additional costs incurred (such as extra staff working hours) will be invoiced separately after the event.
Can I pay after the event once I’ve tasted the food?
Unfortunately, this isn’t how we operate. Our payment schedule must be followed in full to secure and confirm your booking.
Do I need to pay a service charge?
Our 10% service charge is discretionary and applied to the final balance.
How do I leave a review on the web?
